añejo rum
40% ABV
Añejo rum is generic (marketing speak) for rums that have been aged in wood for a relatively long time. Recipes that specify añejo rum typically do so to suggest a higher quality product with finer nuances on the grounds that the recipe will feature those qualities. In practice, and in the absence of further context, an attractive brown molasses-based rum is called for.
