B & B

24% ABVFrance

Also known as “Benedictine & brandy”. Proprietary bottling of a 50/50 mixture of Benedictine & brandy over which whole Cognac distilleries are kept busy. While Benedictine, as such, has been around since the 16th century - and produced commercially since the 1860s - B&B was first produced by popular demand in the 1930s. Herbal liqueur is generic for a wide variety of highly-proprietary medicinal multi-herbal liqueur products. About the only attribute unifying this group is that, while certain botanicals may be identifiable, multiple botanical flavorings are combined for an aggregate effect. Chartreuse and Benedictine are definitive examples.
