Alibi American Blended Whiskey

Proprietary blended whisky blended and bottled in Florida, principally from corn whiskey, supplemented by rye and barley. From the producer’s press release of November 21, 2012: ‘This is not for the aficionado that adds a dropper of mineral water to his whiskey glass and swirls. Alibi is a blended whiskey that does not require elaborate tasting notes or a half-day tasting seminar on its production,’ noted Stephen W. Yorsz, Blend Master for Alibi. ‘This is more in the spirit of how whiskey was originally served in this country — in a shot glass or flask.’ American blended whiskey is generic for a category of whiskey made and aged in the United States and mixed with grain neutral spirits thereafter. Confusingly, “blended whiskey” differs from the term “whiskey, a blend” in that the latter term refers to a blending of straight whiskies and not neutral spirits with whiskey.
