Sarsaprilla is a sweetened, carbonated soft drink flavored with the sarsaparilla vine, native to Central America, or with artificial ingredients intended to replicate the flavor. Sarsaparilla is commonly considered a kind of root beer, and the flavor is comparable. Old references to sarsaparilla in the United States may actually have in mind a similar beverage flavored with sassafras root, which is FDA regulated. Regardless, commercially packaged sarsaparilla soda is common enough in most United States markets.
