Hesperidina

Proprietrary bitter orange liqueur trademarked in Buenos Aires in 1864 and eventually produced there, in Montevideo, and Rio de Janeiro. Ownership has changed at various times. Recent product is a mild liqueur, mild in proof, bitterness, sweetness, and orange intensity. It’s less rich than Amer Picon, and less sweet than most curaçaos. Probably not an ideal substitute for anything. Amer is the generic term for intensely-flavored aperitif/digestif bitters of French origin. Similar to the Italian “Amaro”. Amer tend to be lower proof than their Italian counterparts, and tend to be more focused on the aperitif role than the digestif role. Domestic imitations in some markets.
