Burgundy is a generic category for the unblended wines (both white and red) of Burgundy (Bourgogne), France. Also commonly used to describe wines of the same grape basis (Pinot Noire for red wines and Chardonnay grapes for white) and style produced in California and other places. Most common, in mixed drink use, as a component of punch or heated winter drinks.
