Also known as “cedar essence”. Cedar oil is an extract of cedar leaves employed as an aromatic and preservative. Tinctures & extracts is an abstract category for concentrated flavors in an alcohol or oil base. In cocktails, an alcoholic extract of an herb or spice, typically produced by infusing neutral spirits with an herbs or spices for a period of weeks. Tinctures are used in minute quantities to layer concentrated flavors into drinks. Tinctures are also used in producing liqueurs (often of poor quality).
