Ingredients
pot still irish whiskey
Also known as “single malt irish whiskey”,“single pot still irish whiskey”. Pot still irish whiskey is generic for irish whiskey comprised entirely of barley distilled in pot stills. Pot still irish whiskey can be distilled entirely from malted barley (“single malt” in Bushmills-speak) or a combination of malted barley and unmalted barley (“single pot still” in Midleton-speak). Pot still irish whiskey is generally dramatically richer and more full-bodied than blended irish whiskies, generally more useful in mixed drinks, and particularly essential to 19th Century drinks which were all formulated when pot still irish whiskey was the norm.
