Also known as “cone ice”. Shaved ice is ice reduced to small shards, usually by applying a plane to a block of ice. Ideally, shaved ice is finer (an more consistent) than crushed ice, but courser than snow ice. Outside of skilled ice craftwork, shaved ice and snow ice are much the same thing. One use for shaved ice is for molding ice cones and ice shells to enhance the presentation of Tiki drinks.
