Rhum Negrita

Also known as “Bardinet Rhum Negrita”. Longstanding inexpensive French brand of blender rum, principally sourced from Martinique, although current product may or may not be. Various different products have been sold under this brand over the decades, but the “Rhum Negrita” default is a sharp-tasting dark rum blend. Heavily caramel-colored. Rum is a generic category for rums of any style or origin. For mixed drink use, the unqualified term typically indicates a light-bodied Cuban-style rum, but whether specified or not, the other components in a given recipe will suggest what style of rum ought to be used in order to be in balance with the flavors of those ingredients.
