biscuit

0% ABV

Also known as “toasted cracker”. Some recipes (19th Century and earlier) will specify adding a small bakery item to a drink (usually a warm drink), much as you might add a crouton to soup. Why anybody ever thought this would be a good idea remains one of the pervasive mysteries of the current cocktail renaissance. If a drink recipe specifies adding a cracker or biscuit or anything like that, you have only yourself to thank for demurring.
