Also known as “perilla”. Shiso leaves are the fragrant, rounded, spiky leaves of an herb related to mint and ubiquitous in Japanese cuisine. For mixed drinks, shiso leaves are useful as garnishes or for infusions. In the United States, fresh shiso leaves can be easily acquired packaged in Asian grocery stores.
