Also known as ““fever tree” bark”,“Jesuit’s bark”,“Peruvian bark”,“chinchona bark”. Chinchona bar is the dried bark of the cinchona (quina) tree native to South America. Chinchona bark is harvested for its medicinal quinine content and flavor. This bark is typically dried and powdered for use and can be purchased in that form. WARNING: quinine is toxic above certain amounts and must be managed correctly. Do not employ chinchona or other quinine sources unless you actually know what you’re doing.
