Also known as “huamei”,“hoshiume”,“Ground dried pickled salted plum”. Generic for a commercially packaged, powdered form of dried plumb skin pickled in licorice, red food coloring, salt and sugar. Beware that versions also exist that are “sweetened” with aspartame or saccharine—you will probably want to avoid these for mixed drink purposes.
